The work
What you actually get.
Most box-store gutter screens are theatre. They keep out leaves but pack solid with pine needles and shingle grit by year two. We install stainless steel micro-mesh — the only design proven to handle South Dakota's mix of cottonwood, oak tassels, pine, and asphalt shingle granules.
Problems we solve
- Pine and cottonwood debris that slips through plastic screens
- Shingle grit caking solid below cheap inserts
- Birds nesting under reverse-curve hoods
- Cleaning service bills hitting $300 every six months
What’s included
Stainless micro-mesh
316 marine-grade. Mesh openings sized below 250 microns — finer than a pine needle, finer than most shingle grit.
Aluminum support frame
Won't rust like steel guards. Won't sag like plastic. Color-matched to your gutter.
Pitched to self-clean
We angle the mesh so debris slides off in wind and rain. Most homes never need a brush.
Lifetime no-clog warranty
Written. Transferable. If a guard ever clogs we come clean it free — labor included, not just parts.
Fits existing gutters
Don't need new gutters to add guards. We can retrofit a sound 5" or 6" system.
How it goes
- 1Inspect existing gutter condition — guards on bad gutters is a waste.
- 2Photograph trees overhead so we can size mesh density per run.
- 3Install with stainless screws into the gutter front lip and back flange — no shingle penetration.
- 4Test flush every run with a 5-gallon bucket before we leave.
Frequently asked
Partially. They keep ice from grabbing onto leaf-debris in the trough. They don't replace attic insulation, ventilation, or heat cable on chronic problem rooflines.
Helmet is a reverse-curve hood. LeafFilter is a fine mesh on a foam wedge. Ours is a flat stainless micro-mesh on an aluminum frame — better debris shed, no foam to rot, and we install it for half what national chains charge.
Yes. Stainless micro-mesh is rated for 2.5" hail impact. We've had homes through three hailstorms without a single replacement.
